After a bit of a hiccup (A.I. is a blight on our community), we’re continuing our journey for Cohesion Press’ Author Spotlight by returning to Oz (the country, not Dorothy’s playground) to have a chat with Nick Humphrey.
Will we ‘yeah, nah’ our way through this? Or, ‘nah, yeah’? (If you know, you know.) But Nick is making his way up onto the stage and I’m pretty sure that wasn’t a side-eye he threw my way when he saw me picking the lock to his house. Perhaps.
Ahem. Well, then. Get to it, Nick!
Nick Humphrey is a lawyer and author. He has published ten books on leadership, entrepreneurship and purpose. His debut novel, The Lost Temple, is out with Clark & McKay this year. It is a military action-horror in the vein of Indiana Jones meets Jurassic Park. Kate Forsyth, author of Bitter Greens and The Crimson Thread, describes it as “A fast-paced, heart-pounding roller coaster of thrills – this is the new Matthew Reilly in the making!”
An adventurer at heart, Nick has tracked mountain gorillas in Uganda, raced in the Sydney to Hobart, rafted one of the world’s highest commercially raftable waterfalls and driven a Kombi across Europe.
Nick lives in Sydney with his wife and three children.
For SNAFU: Level Up, Nick gave us the disturbing tale: ACCEPTABLE LOSSES: AUTHORISED: Kade Morren wakes with an AI in his head, a squad under his command, and a HUD counting his health and leadership points. To survive, he must fight an enemy that learns and adapts, while making impossible choices about who lives and who dies.
